For Starters, Don't Panic, it's easier than it looks and that's the beauty of it. You need not worry about being precise because the finished look is cloudy and toned in various lighter shades.
To those of you who are beginning with a Paint Brush, one must always remember that "Art" is just that. It's Art and Art comes in many shapes and forms. So don't let this intimidate you! L@@k at it as a learning creative experience.

To begin, print up the pattern. The pattern is lined so that each square represents a square Two Inch Diameter. This makes for easy enlargement and stenciling.
If you own your Home, then by all means do it in any color scheme that you'd like, but if you don't own your residence, we suggest you stick to light Grays, Blues and Pinks, for future paintover.
We suggest that you paint your ceiling the designated foundation color you are choosing. Example: You're going with Blue Tones and want to enhance with Deep Sky Blue Tones, then paint your ceiling a Deep Sky Blue. Then on the upper main ShowerHead Wall, begin mixing white into the blue and start toning it down, lighter and lighter to the tiling of your bath/shower area. Contour the rest of the ceiling straight with your other walls (or tone with a roller adding a little white, mixing it in and rolling your walls lighter and lighter as you descend to the floor baseboards).
While your ceiling and Shower Wall are drying, you might want to enlarge your Lion Head Pattern.

SUPPLIES NEEDED: You want to use a Nylon Brush like the one in the pic here to the left, preferably a 2". We suggest Nylon as opposed to Hair, because of the abuse you'll be giving it.
Hair Brushes are for more detailed and refined works that are brushed in one main direction, whereas the Nylon can be used in longer strokes as well as for irregular brush strokes.
PAINTS AND VARNISHES: Now because this is a Bathroom Project and your finished artistry will be exposed to humidity, steam, odors and moisture, we highly suggest using an outdoor paint! Some of the newest paints out there today, are the highest quality Latex Paints ever made to date, yet because of the constant change of temperatures and moisture, please use an outdoor paint for a longer lasting finish.
You may also choose to use an oil base paint, but not recommended if you have elderly or young children about. Oil base paints take a much longer time to dry and the fumes are much stronger. Laquer thinner is required for clean up as opposed to warm water, as with water based Latex Paints. The choice is yours.
ACCESSORIES: A Roller and Paint Tray is required for your Ceiling (and remaining walls if you decide to paint your bathroom entirely.
When painting in the details and toning of the Lion's Head, you may want to use a convenient Styrofoam Egg Carton. I use 'em all the time. Cut the styrofoam down the center. The flat top creates a unique tray to blend and wipe your colors. It's also washable when you are finished. PL. NOTE: if youare using an oil base paint and thinning with Laquer Thinner, the thinner will eat through the styrofoam, so beware.
Each little egg carton placement in the lower half is great for premixing your colors, or to simply add your darker and white paints. Handy and useful little accessory that's recycled, washable and re-usable!
You'll need an Outdoor Varnish, either Waterbased or Oil, but it must be an Outdoor Varnish. A 2" Sponge Brush is required for the Varnish Application.
