| In this example, the light switch case had been cut to fit into an inconvenient placement. It didn't look too good. A simple Graphic Design added detail that made it stand out contrary to it's prior appearance I used a darker tone as this was to be a child's room and finger prints were inevitable. I painted the door frame a golden sand color, viewable to the left. This added definition to the door I painted blue and added further details around the door handle. ![]() |
In this Basement Bathroom Example, extensive wall repairs were needed due to tennant abuse and the walls were a loud pink.
By plastering and evening out the walls, I decided to paint the rich blue, viewed in the light switch example. I had remaining pieces of tiled panel board from this homes kitchen makeover and used it around the sink area to protect the wall from further water damage or damage of aggressive behavior. The tiled panel board had a grey-black granite type border that fit with the Blue, Black and Grey concept which gave the small bathroom area, a richer feel by co-ordinating with the single black sink cabinet. ![]() |
This basement was painted loud pink and black-purple.
The cement floor was bare and unsealed in most parts and the carpeting was removed due to soilage by Pets. I then repaired the walls of punch holes, screw holes and corner repairs were required. Once completed, I used a wall primer and two additional coats of a pastel lilac. The floors and wall base, were final coated in the gold sand tone outdoor exterior paint. The wall bases were painted to appear as molding and would give the wall a little longer life from wear and tear of floor washing and vacuming or sweeping. It also added a finished touch to the basement area. |
Brighten up a Kitchen while protecting your walls. Old 70's 3"x3" tan brown tiles surrounded this window to the level of the cupboards.
From the cupboards down, arborite had been glued to the wall. Some of the arborite had been removed and wall damage had occured. By removing the dark tiles from around the window and repairing the walls, lightened the room immediately.
Painting the window sill and frame in high gloss white, further reflected natural daylight into the kitchen while protecting the window from humidity and weathering. The damaged walls under the cupboards, were repaired and painted in an eggshell semi gloss white This was intended to blend with the row of tiled rose-gray marbled panel board that I measured and cut from a single sheeting and glued to the base of the counter top. The opposite wall to this, had been painted a fire engine red! I used this to my advantage, by making it the base to a rose-gray marble Faux-Finish, that matched the tiled counter wall border I applied. |
